We study the neuroregulation of bodily processes (e.g., beating of the heart). Specifically, we explore the neurophysiological mechanisms that facilitate social behavior or are reactive to social stress. Our research on the physiological responses and autonomic nervous system functioning of trauma survivors will help to improve understanding of the lasting effects of traumatic experience.

Our Mission

To design and deploy cutting edge sensor technologies that improve psychophysiological research by bringing lab techniques into the social environments we inhabit.

OUR HISTORY

Established in the summer of 2018 at Lindley Hall, home of the Kinsey Institute at Indiana University, the Socioneural Physiology Lab supports the mission of KI researchers, particularly the KI Traumatic Stress Research Consortium.
