Past Graduate Students
Vedang Narain
Vedang worked in the lab during his M.S. program in Intelligent Systems Engineering with a focus on computational bioengineering. His interests at the lab included portable biosensors and brain–computer interfaces.
Britain Taylor
Britain is a PhD. student from Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Her area of study is Neuro-engineering and Complex Networks and Systems. Her research focus is on engineering health, mental well-being, physiological responses, and non-contact sensors. Britain is passionate about the impact of social media on mental health and physiological and behavioral regulation. She is currently working on the research and development of a predictive software that can detect the vulnerability to depression during social media engagement. In addition, she is working on the development of a non-contact sensor to detect physiological responses in someone's face.
Anna Heine
Anna holds a B.S. in informatics. She worked in our lab during her M.S. in the Intelligent Systems Engineering program at Indiana University, concentrating in Bioengineering. She is planning a career in the medical device and pharmacotechnology industry.
Zoher Kachwala
Zoher is a computer engineer pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at Indiana University. His interest lies in trying to automate computational fact checking with the hope of improving the political climate around the world. While in the lab, Zoher worked on building a high efficiency data analysis pipeline for vocal prosody. For his Master's research, at the NetworkAgentNetworks (NaN) Lab in Informatics, he is working on creating a semantic representation of fact checks to aid automated fact checking. Zach kaufman
Zach Kaufman was an Accelerated Masters student studying Intelligent Systems Engineering. He worked as a Research Assistant since September of 2020 in the R-House Human-Robot Interaction lab and started working in the Socioneural Physiology lab in Spring 2023. His research primarily focused on computer perception (using methods in computer vision and wearable sensors) for assistive robots being used with elderly adults, children, and in healthcare. Zach is planning to go on to get a PhD in Robotics after graduating and continue to research assistive robots for mental health.
