Our Covid-19 Research

Paper on mental health, adverse experiences, and covid-19:

Our study surveyed over 1500 US adults immediately after the outbreak of coronavirus. Our results show that having had more prior adverse experiences predicted more PTSD and depressive symptomology, and more worry about the virus, regardless of age. There is evidence that the link between prior adversities and current mental health and worry was explained by brain-body stress responses. The findings also show that younger people expressed more coronavirus-related worry and showed more depression and PTSD symptoms during the pandemic. Across all age groups, greater worry was associated with higher symptoms. See our publications page for the full citation and doi access to this paper!

Additional covid-19 research:

We conducted additional studies pertaining to the covid-19 pandemic — these studies featured a slightly narrower focus than our broad spectrum survey mentioned above. One such study sought to capture pregnant and post-partum individuals’ experiences during early months of the pandemic. Another sought to contribute to an understanding of peoples’ experiences with disability, trauma, and sexuality, and how the pandemic might be affecting those experiences.
